He is not THAT obtuse. I think he knows EXACTLY what he’s doing. The cad. And yeah I feel bad he’s alone but…

I fucking LOVED Madame de Pompadour.  But, yeah, the way he left Rose was totally shitty.  Even if he knew he could get back, he should have told her that and not let her think that he left her on a space ship alone in space forever.

I don’t understand him sometimes either.

But no, that’s one of my favorite episodes ever.  Even though the Doctor’s a total dick to Rose.

Ah the girl in the fireplace. Epic episode. Mikey is on that ship too you know. Yeah the Doctor is an ass with his little fling with Reinette but Rose also still has the really weird awkward thing with  Mikey. Why does she ever let him stay around? The entire time that he’s with her he’s a total wuss and lacks much of any good qualities. The moment Mikey shines is when he leaves Rose to stay in the other universe and finally do something of his own accord rather than follow Rose around like a puppy. It seems to me like as soon as she met the Doctor she never loved him again (if she did in the first place) but she still leads him on for several episodes. So sorry but I can’t really feel that bad for Rose in that episode.

That’s true. I just think all the relationships in Dr. Who are weird. All that sexual tension and love flying about but no one actually does anything! They don’t even talk about it! I mean they just keep creating this constant state of expectation and never follow through! So it ends up with the Dr. looking like a woman-collecting jerk and all these other people who can face death but can’t face their feelings. Sometimes it just gets ridiculous.
